Experience
5.5 years of writing center experience at the university level --1 year as an undergraduate tutor --1 year as a Writing Lab assistant --3.5 years as the Writing Lab Coordinator Over the past five and a half years, tutoring has been a passion of mine. I have seen a variety of student writers from across the disciplines (research methods, English, sciences, history, business, and health and sport sciences) and at various capabilities. With these students, I have provided guidance to help them grow as writers, learners, and thinkers. My goal with tutoring writing is to give students the chance to be heard, using their stories and language as a building block to improve their writing skills. I want them to be empowered by knowing how to communicate well and by recognizing that what they say matters.

Hobbies
Two of my favorite passions are reading and writing. I know this fact may seem obvious, considering I am a writing tutor. My favorite novels are Jane Eyre and Les Miserables. However, I also enjoy reading the dystopian literature of today's times, such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. I also love adventure, traveling to new places and trying new experiences. I am a tennis player and a violin player. One of my favorite TV characters is the Doctor, and I also love watching Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows.
