Experience

I believe that education should take into account the individual needs of each student. Too often, lessons in classroom settings are too broad and general to allow each student to successfully follow along. It takes the attention of a competent tutor to be able to devise a customized plan that will allow the student to flourish. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies with minors in Architecture and Spanish from Washington University, which provides me with a range of knowledge that enables me to teach a variety of subjects. I spent much of my time at college acting as the co-president of a university group called City Faces. We specialized in after-school tutoring and mentoring for youth living in nearby public housing. During this time, I played a leadership role by developing curriculum and leading the group's general activities. During my undergraduate studies, I also spent time studying in Argentina, where I was able to tutor youth and also improve my Spanish. Today, I am an extremely active tutor, tutoring subjects such as Spanish, Math, Reading, Writing, and preparation for the ACT. In my spare time, I enjoy acting, singing, running, and playing soccer.
