Education
AA in Music, STLCC '14 BM in Music Composition, Webster U '16 I graduated from Saint Louis Community College: Meramec in 2014 with my AA in music. The same year, I transferred to Webster University, where I am currently in my senior year studying music composition. I am studying classical piano with Donna Vince, and I look forward to studying jazz piano with Carolbeth True in the spring. I have studied composition with Bob Chamberlin, Kim Portnoy, and am currently studying with Dr. Josh Burel. This spring I will be the 'composer in residence' at Webster Groves High School, where I will work with the orchestra director to write a challenging, yet accessible piece for string orchestra. GPA: 3.93
Experience
I have had numerous positive encounters where I helped a peer with music theory, sight singing, or musicianship throughout my schooling. I enjoy helping others understand the often confusing terminology used in music theory. Specific subjects I can help with include the following: ear training, sight singing, rhythmic and melodic dictation, keyboard skills, writing about music (e.g. how to research and prepare an essay on a composer or composition), analysis, counterpoint, and composition. I have been playing piano for about 11 years, though I have not given many lessons. I would be most comfortable teaching beginning students.

Hobbies
In addition to piano, I also play the drums, guitar, cello, and various woodwinds. I enjoy listening to all different kinds of music and going to live concerts from punk rock to Beethoven. Outside of music, I enjoy exercising, cooking, strategic games (Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone, chess, etc.), reading, writing, and drawing.
