Experience
I'm an experienced teacher and tutor with a strong interest in helping my students to build their self-confidence and develop their own passion for learning. My varied experience has resulted in my having lots of tools and techniques for customizing my teaching for each individual person. As I come to understand the student's individual learning style, I apply the approaches that fit best to help him or her reach incremental goals of academic success. I'm looking forward to helping students to prepare for success in testing and coursework.I received my B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Economics from Columbia University. My deep interest in education led me to earn a master's degree in Education. I am now working towards my teaching credential for Secondary Mathematics. Since middle school, when I first started tutoring, I have instructed many students on an individual basis, teaching mathematics and test preparation, among other subjects. In New York City and Los Angeles, I have taught in the classroom for more than two years. My interests, besides tutoring, include traveling, paper crafts, photography, music, and sports.
