It's an enjoyable experience to help students move through confusion and frustration to achieving that moment where they suddenly reach an understanding of a complex subject area. I incorporate engaging techniques that help students use critical-thinking and problem-solving techniques to work through their learning struggles and achieve academic success. My tutoring career started as a camp counselor, when I taught students at a nature preserve. While I attended college, I helped fellow students with homework and research projects, and worked as a teaching assistant for a Geology class. Most recently, I finished a year of volunteering with AmeriCorps.I earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Earth Science from Washington University in St. Louis. While attending the university, I also focused on many Math and Science subjects. My tutoring specialty involves many subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-4, Calculus 1-3, Differential Equations, Reading, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Writing, and Test Preparation for ACT, SAT, ISEE, and SSAT.In my free time, I like to wind down by going on a run or hike, participating in sports, spending time with my dog, piano playing, cooking, and reading.
