Education
In 2013, I graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelors degree in Honors English and two minors in Spanish and Theatre. I graduated summa cum laude. Currently, I'm earning my MFA at Washington University in St. Louis in fiction writing. I'm honored to be an Olin Fellow. My expected graduation date is May 2016.
Experience
At the University of Rochester, I was a Writing Fellow and peer tutor that worked one-on-one to help students with their writing, whether research papers, lab reports, or applications. I received a 30 on my ACT and a 163 on my GRE Verbal and a 5 on my analytical writing, in the 92 and 93 percentile respectively. I love working with people and particularly love teaching one-on-one; it's much more personalized and therefore more beneficial for the student. I'm very passionate about reading and writing, so it's a joy for me to talk about it and equip others to become better readers and writers. Between my undergraduate and graduate education, I worked for a year as a reading and writing coach at a Rochester City School District elementary school. For two summers prior, I was a staff reporter for a daily newspaper, The Chautauquan Daily. I also have experience in publishing, having spent a summer as an intern for Open Letter Books.

Hobbies
Other than reading and writing, which I nerdily spend much of my time doing, I love to go for runs in the park. I've done several 5ks and it's my goal to run a half-marathon someday soon. I also love cooking and baking! Brunch is my favorite meal, so I tend to scavenge new brunch recipes from food blogs semi-regularly. Perhaps this goes without saying, but I love spending time with friends, whether grabbing a good cup of coffee (I love coffee), catching a flick, or going to the symphony (I come from a family of musicians).
