Experience
I’m a driven and enthusiastic educator, and I’ve been working with young people for more than four years in schools, homes, and summer camps. Most recently, I was a tutor for Lewis & Clark College (from which I graduated in 2015), helping students with coursework in Classical Greek and Latin through the 202 level. I've also worked as a German Tutor at Lewis & Clark, an ESL classroom tutor at Jackson Middle School in Portland, OR, an in home tutor and caregiver for a family in the Portland area, and a camp leader at AYF: Merrowvista in New Hampshire for two summers. I came to this understanding in the Fall of my Freshman year at Lewis & Clark, when I enrolled in a class called "Education in a Complex World." Nothing had ever been more gratifying that using the lessons I learned in class while tutoring ESL students at a nearby middle school, and then using what I learned while tutoring to come to a better understanding of what I was learning in class. It's my hope that I can continue learning and teaching for the rest of my life.
