Experience
I attended an IB high school, and during my education there, I found myself helping my fellow students in history. I have always been passionate about history. After my graduation, I had the opportunity to apply my historical knowledge in the classroom with Truman's State MAE program. This intense program gave me months of classroom teaching experience and access to the wisdom of veteran educators. It involved hands-on learning techniques, learning how to complete a teacher's prep work, and a six-month internship, where I taught at Lee's Summit West High School. During that time, I was also elected as the organizer for a large social and athletic event that involved hundreds of my fellow college students. This experience taught me that I had the knack for large-scale organization, public speaking, and event management, and I translated these skills into the classroom during my MAE student teaching internship. As a teacher, I am well trained, I keep cool under pressure, and I love the subjects I teach! I can help students in IB- and AP-level courses in government, philosophy, geography, politics, religion, psychology, and history. I am also able to help students prepare for the ACT, PSAT, and SAT. In my spare time, I enjoy playing board games and reading science fiction.
