Experience
Though I did not major in English, I took many English courses including Intro to Lit, African-American Women Writers, Latin American Women Writers, Gender and Lit, and Jane Austen. In addition, of course, I majored in Theatre which not only exposed me to many plays and acting techniques and history but also to a lot of literature. I took Creative Writing courses, focusing around Playwriting. In college, I was a Teaching Assistant for Beginning Acting, so I do have previous experience as a sort of teacher. This spring, I graduated Cum Laude, and was on the Dean's List for most of my time at Knox. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy sharing knowledge with others and I think that helping people write better and read better, in particular, can make us better human beings overall. Relevant ACT scores: 28 overall; 33 in English; 10 on the Writing portion.
