Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree with a double major in English and Spanish from Truman State University, where I also went on to earn my master's in Education with a Foreign Language Education focus. My education isn't complete, as I'm currently taking part in a Multicultural Education graduate program online. I once spent time in Spain as part of a study abroad program. I also spent 18 months in south Texas on a service mission and worked an internship in Germany, teaching on an American military base. I have professional experience teaching Spanish to students in all grades from Kindergarten up through high school. Learning has always been something I've loved, and sharing that love of learning is what I try to do with all of my students. Everyone has the capability to learn whatever they put their mind to. I find that it's my job to discover the different ways that my students learn and maximize their abilities. I focus my lessons on tangible goals and like to see where my students are after each session as compared to before. In my free time, I like to stay active by doing yoga, running, and participating in other sports. I also love traveling and watching baseball.
