Experience
I was a tutor for undergraduate students in math classes up to calculus and basic chemistry and biology courses for UMSL's Multicultural Student Services department for a few semesters. I also volunteered as a tutor for the biology department as a tutor for freshman level biology courses for one semester. I also tutored middle school and high school students for the Residency in Teaching Educating program through UMSL. Since I was in middle school, I have noticed that many students can be intimidated by the hard sciences, so I have taken delight in helping other students develop an understanding and appreciation for some of the courses. I took many biology and mathematics courses since I majored in those subjects. I also took intro to Chemistry I & II, Intro to Physics I & II, Organic Chemistry I, II, and laboratory. I also did some laboratory research for Dr. George Gokel and Dr. Chung Wong of the UMSL biochemistry department.
