MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY I have a passion for teaching, and I get a fulfillment when I succeed in communicating a concept to my students. My philosophy of teaching is simple: I make sure the foundation is strong and right; then take one brick (of concept) at a time, and build over a pre-laid layer of bricks (of knowledge). Whenever my students say “I am going to study for the test”, I correct them by saying “ your goal should be “I am going to learn how the process of cellular respiration takes place (for example)” My emphasis has always been on students’ learning by critical thinking. I never believe in spoon-feeding my students nor do I engage in lull monologues. I always encourage them to actively participate in my lectures and develop their analytical skills. Based on this philosophy, I have taught undergraduate and pre-graduate students in India many of whom are well placed in the US, Canada and India. Hobbies

Because of my spinal stenosis, I stopped playing tennis, cricket & Ping-Pong. These days I read a lot - mostly non-fiction - subject matter varies from current affairs of the world, religion, mysticism and spirituality, and so on. From early childhood, my other passion has been "Scientific Research". My career as a researcher abruptly ended soon after the start of Iraq war - we didn't get enough funds. I was working on a Tumor suppressor gene MENI, and its protein product menin. Even now I keep following the updates on the role of menin; it turns out it plays many roles including a supporting role of an oncogene MLL (Mutated MLL causes Mixed Lineage Leukemia)! I have included my research publications & the names and the contact information of my References below: REFERENCES Prof. T.
