Private tutor in St. Louis, MO
Saint Louis University-Main Campus - BA, Spanish, International Studies
I am in my senior year at Saint Louis University, where I am working toward a bachelor's degree in Spanish and International Studies with a concentration in Translation and International Business. During my undergraduate studies, I have worked, studied, and lived in Ecuador intermittently since 2012 through both an internship at a Fair Trade cooperative and as an organic farm volunteer at a variety of different livestock and produce farms. I have also served as a teacher and tutor for rural Ecuadorian students. My philosophy as a tutor is to get to know my students' particular challenges, strengths, and weaknesses so I can personalize each lesson. This provides a baseline as my students set goals, as I want them to not only meet their educational goals but to exceed them. I enjoy tutoring a broad range of subjects, however, I am most excited about English and Spanish. I can tutor all levels of Spanish, AP Spanish Literature and Culture, English, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, History, Social Studies, Study Skills, and preparation for the PSAT, SAT, SSAT, and TOEFL.Outside of tutoring and studying, I enjoy reading historical fiction, riding my bike, creative writing, making new foods, hiking, camping, organic agriculture, and learning new languages.
