Experience
I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics and I have extensive and broad teaching experience. I am very familiar with 9-12 high school curriculum especially in Algebra and Geometry. I recognize that a motivated student is an easy student to teach. So my first goal is to start a fire in the belly. I guarantee improved grades at CP, Honors, and AP level classes. My top priority is to give students a conceptual understanding of the material (as opposed to rote memorization). I do this by asking the student questions to gauge their understanding. Then I assign tailored problems (often that I make up on the spot) to address the material they don't understand. I also like to encourage them by pointing out the things they do understand.
