Experience
I attended St. Louis University for my bachelor's degree in English and philosophy. I then went on to the University Missouri - St. Louis for my master's degree in English composition. I worked for two years at UMSL as a tutor in the writing lab. As a younger student, I knew what teachers were looking for an essays and other writing, but it was a struggle for me to accomplish. With helping teachers and hard work, I was able to cultivate the skill. I want to share what I've learned with others as a tutor. I respect my students, and I also understand that every student is intelligent. When students are not confident though, it is hard to help them succeed. For this reason, I encourage students and reinforce them by telling them about what they already know. We then build off that to turn them into achievers. I've been successful in my approach, and I have many satisfied clients. I am looking forward to tutoring students in literature, reading, writing, general English, comparative literature, and of course writing. In my free time, I like to write myself. I also enjoy reading, video games, and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals.
