Experience
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Concordia University, Nebraska, with a focus on Spanish and English. During this time, I was lucky enough to spend a semester abroad in Costa Rica, where I learned more about Spanish language and the local culture. Upon returning home, I began teaching Spanish to my peers who were interested in learning more about the language. Since then, I've been working as a Spanish teacher for the past five years, where I've taught high school level Spanish. In addition to tutoring Spanish, I also moved to Lima, Peru, and taught English as a Second Language while learning more about Latin American culture and traveling across South America. As a tutor, I believe that it's important to connect with my students and learn more about them so that I'm able to teach in a way that works best for them. I believe that every lesson should be customized to suit the needs of the student, so that they're able to learn in a way that helps them build upon their existing strengths without feeling overwhelmed or stressed out about the overall learning experience. Along with teaching Spanish and English, I also like traveling, running, and watching baseball games.
