Experience
I have spent many years as a teacher and tutor, gaining and perfecting my skills in order to be as effective as possible in whatever role I am serving. Aiding me in this is my educational background, which includes a bachelor's degree from Illinois College in history. Additionally, I possess a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, in Education.I am a veteran teacher of ten years, where I taught social studies to public high school students. My passion for teaching lent itself to leading various school improvement and classroom management initiatives in my district. I spent many of my years tutoring after school, where I helped students at all levels, remedial to honors and advanced placement. I am certified to teach social studies, including United States history, world history, and geography. I also have experience with civics, the United States Constitution, and history (European and Western). In addition, I can assist students with study skills and organization, and test preparation. When not teaching or tutoring, I bake (from breads to pie, I love them all!), sew (including making costumes for plays and altering clothes), and spend time outside camping and biking.
