Experience
I graduated from Missouri State University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in classical antiquities with a focus on Greek and Roman civilizations and a minor in anthropology. I earned a master's degree in teaching from MSU in December of 2014. I am certified in the state of Missouri to teach Latin to K-12 students, plus social studies and English to students in grades 9-12. I have a variety of experience teaching and tutoring, as I started when was still an undergraduate student. First, my professors referred other students to me for tutoring assistance in Latin. Then, I was a substitute in the public schools as well as the Catholic schools, where I taught a variety of subjects. Presently, I am teaching language arts and Latin for the Rockwood School System. Before and after school, I tutor my own students. Latin, obviously, as well as social studies and anthropology are the subjects I most like to tutor, although I'm competent to teach other subjects. I'm a fan of using technology in tutoring in addition to more traditional methods. All students have the potential to be successful, I believe, but must be tutored using an approach that's customized to each student. I love to read young adult fiction, spend time with my dog and my family, make cakes and decorate them, and watch "Doctor Who".
