Matthew B.

Private tutor in St. Louis, MO

St Louis University - BA, History and German , Washington University - PhD, History

I am a tutor who loves to teach and can work with students in a variety of subject areas. I can help students with their elementary math, middle school math, German, reading, writing, literature, world history, government, economics, social studies, geography, English, and a multitude of other subjects. I completed my undergraduate studies at St. Louis University, and I went on to receive my Ph.D. in History at Washington University. I have been working with students for over fifteen years now, as a teacher, tutor, and mentor. I have helped students working on humanities and social sciences as well as reading and writing. I truly enjoy helping a student develop their writing skills. I understand that every student learns differently, and as a tutor I cater my sessions to the individual needs of my students. Not only do I work with students on the subject at hand, I also encourage them to develop stronger study and organization skills so that they can become better learners in general. I love to teach, and I always bring my enthusiasm for learning to every one of my tutoring sessions. When I'm not tutoring I like to read good books, play a lot of sports, and spend time outside either going on hikes or bike rides.
