I attended Washington University, in St. Louis, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Imaging and Photography. I have experience tutoring at a writing center, where I helped high school students learn proper writing techniques while helping them gain a deeper understanding of English literature.I find tutoring to be a rewarding experience. I love being able to watch my students steadily improve over the school year, which I achieve by helping them better their comprehension while developing an understanding of the basic mechanics of writing. I engage my students through a series of discussions, where asking questions and providing examples in encouraged. Through my teaching methods, I have been successful in helping students write motivational letters for college and graduate school admissions.I live in St. Louis, and I am available to tutor students who need help in writing, literature, grammar, and English. I also am able to help students prepare for the SAT by assisting in the verbal, writing, and critical reading portions of the test. I currently work as a managing editor for a popular literary magazine. My responsibilities include selecting content and proofreading. In my free time I like to read and write. I also enjoy running races, cooking, climbing, and doing yoga.
