Experience
I began formal working experience as an English tutor in my high school senior year. I was also an informal tutor in high school by assisting my peers in their test preparations. I am comfortable tutoring test prep for the ACT, GRE, and ISEE. In addition to test prep and English, I tutor a variety of subjects, including: Anatomy, Chemistry, Nutrition, Philosophy, Sociology, and History. I have found that I enjoy working with students in their standardized test prep because it is rewarding to me when they experience the improvement in their scores. I have a preference for interactive and engaging teaching styles because it allows students to have their own input into what works best in their pursuit of learning. I believe that students should have the option to have their preferences included in the lessons to create the best learning environment for them. I earned my Bachelor of Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Community Health Education, with a Psychology minor. Currently, I am working towards a doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy at Washington University, St. Louis. Some of my interests are attending movies, reading, and yoga. I also enjoy being with my friends and family, as well as playing with my dog.
