Experience

I began tutoring while in high school, and I love that there is a give and take for both the student and tutor. I don't believe that the teacher is the only one teaching, and neither is the student the only one learning. Both participants have something to offer, and as a tutor I love seeing not only what I can give, but also what each student will teach me. I strive to be flexible in my approach, as I know there are multiple ways to solve a problem or learn a concept, and I do my best to find what works best for each student. I also do my best to be patient, as that is very important throughout the learning process. I tutor in a wide range of subjects, including Math (Arithmetic, Middle School Math, Geometry, Algebra I and II, and Precalculus), Writing (Grammar and Mechanics, Essay Writing, and College Essays), and Reading (Phonics and Literature). I also assist students with ACT and SAT test preparation, study skills, and organizational skills. My interests include art, design, and physics, and I love listening to podcasts that make me laugh or cry out loud.
