ExperienceI started working as a tutor while enrolled in a practical nursing program, and found that I had a knack for it. I enjoy working in a one-on-one environment with students, and try to take a practical, scientific approach to education. First, I lay the foundation by helping students grasp the core concept of what we're discussing. Then, I build on that by compiling practice problems to make sure that students fully understand all the different angles of the material. We then discuss the material in greater detail, which allows the students to see the subject not just in test format, but also as a critical thinking issue. I've found this approach to be very successful. All it takes from the students is hard work and a willingness to learn. In return, I can promise to be patient, approachable, and flexible depending on the student's learning needs. I also try to impart on them that learning goes beyond the individual subject. Building good study and research habits, can lay the groundwork for a very successful academic career. I'm well versed in most subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and finally Spanish.
