Private tutor in St. Louis, MO
Education
Washington University in St. Louis - BA, Women and Gender Studies
Experience
I attended Washington University to earn my bachelor's degree in women and gender studies. I also took pre-medical courses, my favorite which were microbiology, organic chemistry, anatomy, and physiology. When I work with students, I utilize a collaborative process. I ask a lot of questions to lead students down the path of understanding, and also to gauge progress. It's fun for me to take difficult concepts and re-explain them in basic steps and in ways that are easier to understand. I often find that when students are frustrated with a concept, it usually because their vision of it is poorly organized. I like to help students work through this, and it's rewarding to see them make sense of the topic they struggled with. I can tutor students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, microbiology, physiology, essay editing, reading, writing, and test preparation for the ACT, MCAT, and others. In my free time, I like to dance, cook, teach, and read.
