I earned my PhD in English from Washington University in 2022. I have taught courses in writing, literature, and women's studies at Wash U, St. Louis Community College, and University of California, Riverside. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow of English at Wash U.
Experience
I have extensive experience teaching writing and literature to both high school and college students. I have also tutored students from 8th grade to college. I have published both peer-reviewed and popular essays in several publications and presented at national conferences. In 2021, I was awarded Wash U's Dean's Award for Teaching, the highest award for graduate teaching awarded by the university. What's more, I am truly passionate about working with students one on one. My approach to tutoring is to emphasis trust and rapport as well as sentence structure. Whether your child is struggling in school, or simply needs support as they apply for college or prepare for standardized tests, I want them to feel confident in their own abilities and develop their own intellectual curiosity. I pair my credentials with a friendly, approachable style that makes learning less intimidating. I love working with young people and making the learning process fun.
