Tutor for Varsity Tutors, in writing, English composition. I have taught wellness and management development programs for over six years. I am a corporate veteran, having worked for working for large , and small organizations as a consultant . I am a facilitator/trainer, process management consultant, moderator/focus group leader, and writer/producer (in multiple mediums). My areas of expertise include sales, operations, retail/wholesale functions and customer service/customer retention. As for being a tutor - My passion is helping others to communicate clearly and purposefully. I help them to make sure their thoughts and ideas are expressed well, so they can joyfully tell their stories, intelligently express their opinions, and wisely communicate what they know is important for them to say.I have taught and worked with students young & old as an instructor, tutor and resource throughout my professional life. I have helped them achieve their objectives, by helping to maximize their capabilities, and get them to discover the natural strengths that they possess. My students grew and learned to incorporate and use new knowledge and skills. And they were able to realize their goals– whether academic, personal or professional - and along the way, to have fun. As an instructor , tutor and coach I have worked with young people , college students and adults who were committed to developing their ability to communicate in both oral and written form – even when they thought they could not. Whether it was the young man with learning disabilities that needed someone to help him identify and realize his creative skills, the classroom full of students that had to learn the skills of critical thinking in order to ask the right questions, the adult psychologist who had lost his confidence and needed someone to confirm he could express himself clearly and concisely – they and others I worked with learned to excel. They learned to believe in themselves set higher expectations, and achieved their goals. In every case it was a matter of setting practical expectations, and helping them to achieve them one step at time. I wanted each student to use their critical thinking, to help understand if and why an idea made sense, and how to tell others about it. How to organize and structure writing that makes even the complex idea obvious. And how to use the syntax, words and flow of a written presentation to best effect. I have degrees in Psychology and Communications. I have certifications in training, the design of instruction and human performance consuIting. But along the way I also authored numerous corporate and creative print projects,film and video scripts, and dozens of audio/visual, multi-media and online presentations. Related to this are my other interests in human behavior, history, and politics. They are a way to look at the past, present and future. They are ways to see peoples’ behaviors, observe social and political trends, and review the actions and implications of historical events. Together they are a panorama of how we use the most intimate and the most explosive/expansive of communications. I have degrees in Psychology and Communications.
