Experience

I am a Clinical Child Psychology doctoral student at the University of Miami. It is here that my passion for teaching has blossomed. Although, I first had serious thoughts about teaching while I was earning my Bachelor of Psychology at Washington U. While I was earning my bachelor's degree, I was able to be a teacher's assistant and I loved it and every other teaching opportunity I have had since then. I have been a TA for each semester since then. I have also had experience running my own class, Introduction to Biobehavioral Statistics. I have really valued the mentors I have had and I strive to be the same valued mentor for my students. My teaching philosophy is it is important to guide your clients toward the answers, instead of dictating or lecturing them. I also believe that it is important to foster independence in your pupils. Students should be taught problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These are skills that will help them now, but also in the future. I want to be a positive role model for my students. I will be someone who is patient, professional, and kind. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve academic greatness.
