Experience
I'm a tutor who is based out of St. Louis, where I enjoy playing the piano and singing when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I'm currently an undergraduate student in psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. As a tutor, I'm able to help students in a variety of subject areas. Some of the lessons I've taught in the past have been in math, chemistry, social studies, and writing, amongst other things. Education has always been very important to me, and I decided to share that passion with others by becoming a tutor. My first tutoring job was working as a teacher's assistant during a five week summer enrichment program for middle schoolers. I was instantly hooked on being a tutor, as I thoroughly enjoyed helping the students I worked with get more out of their education. I believe myself to be very patient when working with students. I also strive to take a collaborative approach to my tutoring sessions. I work with my students to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and then design individualized lesson plans to help those students combat their weaknesses. This allows the student to get the most that they can out of our time together. I also believe that education should be fun. When someone is interested in what they're learning about, they are more likely to maintain an interest in the tutoring session. That's why I always try to incorporate something of interest to the student in our lessons together. If you think I can help you reach your academic goals, reach out. I'd be honored to work with you.
