Taylor J.
Private tutor in St. Louis, MO
Education
Earlham College - Bachelors, History , University of Missouri-St Louis - Current Grad Student, History/Museum Studies
Experience
My role as a tutor is to teach students how to think rather than what to think. "How to think" may include critical reasoning skills, concise writing, time management, and even confidence. My background as an historian and museum professional inspires me to want to draw kids into thinking analytically about history. In addition, I have extensive and varied writing experience, including professional writing, academic papers, and informal publications. I work with a wide range of young students, and aim to help them develop the capacity and inclination to think independently. I am available for tutoring in Reading, Writing, History, English, Social Studies, and Art History, and can assist with preparation for the ACT, the GRE, and various AP exams. When I'm not working, I like to travel, play the guitar, play the piano, sing, and go hiking and camping.
