Washington University in St. Louis - BFA, Studio Art (Writing Minor)
Experience
I received my BFA in Printmaking and Drawing from Washington University in St. Louis where I heavily concentrated on writing. I traveled to South Korea where I taught English to adults who were interested in enhancing their business skills. While there I also tutored other adults and children of all ages who wished to become fluent in English. My most rewarding time in Korea was working with a group of business professionals who wanted to improve their ability to have casual conversations in English.Upon returning to the states I began tutoring students on standardized test preparation, writing, skills to improve the efficacy of studying, reading analysis, vocabulary, grammar, and other subjects. Later, I facilitated grant writing at the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis. Currently, I assist individuals seeking grants by reviewing their proposals and helping them polish the content. My passion is in helping people achieve their academic and personal goals. The ability to successfully read and understand new content and write to communicate your own ideas is one of the most personally transformational experiences a student can have. Time and again I have seen it lead to students who become excellent communicators and who become passionate about learning.I am a patient and adaptive educator and will take my time to learn how to best help each student achieve their goals.
