Experience
I am currently attending St. Louis University where I am working toward a master's degree in Public Health. During my undergraduate career at Creighton University, I studied both physics and philosophy. I finished with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Mathematical Logic. I am available to tutor in a variety of subjects, including English, Mathematics (elementary and middle school levels, as well as Algebra 1-4, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, and Statistics), and Philosophy. I am also able to assist students preparing to take standardized exams such as the ACT, SAT, ASVAB, and GRE and with those working on college essay writing and editing. My varied education has influenced my tutoring methods greatly. I worked as an instructor for a "Philosophy for Children" course through Creighton, and it was there that I found a passion for teaching. I have experience working with students both individually and in group settings. It is my belief that open communication between teacher and student, as is found in the works of Plato, is an extremely effective method of teaching. While that method may sound heavy and intimidating, I keep my tutoring sessions easygoing and casual. In my personal life outside of tutoring, I enjoy being physically active through disc golf, soccer, weight-lifting, and yoga. I'm also fond of baking and reading.
