Experience
In 2012 I graduated from the University of Puget Sound. I studied Spanish Literature and International Political Economy. I have recent experience with Teach for America. During my time with them I taught Spanish to high schoolers in New Orleans. I covered a wide variety of topics such as Math, English, Social Studies, History, and Phonics. More specific courses I taught include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Middle School Math, ESL/ELL, Literature, United States History, IB Social and Cultural Anthropology HL, IB Social and Cultural Anthropology SL, ACT, PSAT, SAT Critical Reading, SAT Subject Test in Literature, SAT Mathematics, ASVAB, Social Sciences, SAT Subject Test in Spanish with Listening, and Essay Editing.I have over seven years of tutoring and teaching experience. I love to be creative when helping students learn. It's fun to work with students throughout the whole learning process. Sometimes I introduce them to a concept that's totally new to them, and get to see them through to full comprehension.Presently I am a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs based in Saint Louis. Ideally I'd like to tutor in my spare time in the areas of Spanish, basic math, ACT test prep, or English. My hobbies include traveling, cooking, dancing, music, painting, running, and reading.
