Experience
I hold a Bachelor in Public Health Education from Southern Illinois University. I also hold a master's degree in Community Development and Planning from Clark University. My tutoring experience includes teaching Spanish to primary school students and working as an a ESL writing tutor, helping adult learners improve their writing skills. My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that learners are very different. A trip to West Africa taught me that learning new things is challenging but also very exciting. Whenever I tutor, I strive to communicate my excitement at sharing the learning process with the student I am assisting. Some of the subject areas I teach include Spanish at levels 1-4, Writing, Psychology, Reading, Literature, Business, Linguistics, and more. I am also able to assist students who require test prep for ACT English and Reading or CLEP College Composition, CLEP Spanish and a few other CLEP exams. I also love to assist students with ACT and CLEP test prep. When I'm not tutoring, I have interests in music, photography, kayaking, road trips, budget travel, going to concerts, and eating cupcakes.
