ExperienceI've never gotten less than an A- in any class I've taken at UC Berkeley!!! I've tutored extensively in high school, college, and basically as full time employment after college. I want to tutor because I love to teach! I have college level mastery over biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and math and would be capable of tutoring any of these subjects. I mostly specialize in the physical sciences (chemistry and physics) although please message me through the UniversityTutor website if you have any questions at all! I have tutored many high school students in AP and honors science courses and also college students in the San Diego area.

Excellent tutor. Extremely knowledgeable, flexible, and reasonable. Can't recommend more for MCAT related tutoring.
Michael received a call from us the 2nd week into an accelerated honors high school chemistry class that my daughter was taking. It was a six week course that was equivalent to a one year course at her high school OLP. Due to the very short timing of the class, it was great that Michael made accommodations to see my daughter twice a week starting the day after I contacted him. Michael was very timely for every session and helped my daughter understand the material in short order because time was something she did not have for this class. I would highly recommend Michael to other students needing a tutor.
Honestly, I have had the best experience with Michael! He is a great tutor and you could definitely learn and understand from him . I felt really challenged in precalculus and chemistry and michael helped through it all. Take him, you won't regret.
One of the best tutors I have encountered in the past years. Definitely knows his subjects I make complex ideas simple for you to understand. Would recommend for any subject and any level.
Michael is awesome! He tutored my twin daughters in AP Physics. He brought both of them from a state of being confused and overwhelmed, to a confident, knowledgeable and successful state! He was excellent at his explanations of the subject matter using props and drawings to help the girls visualize the concepts. He was always kind and courteous as well as very punctual. He is top notch! Michael will help you succeed! Definitely worth the investment!
Excellent tutor. Really knowledgable in physics. Can guide you through numerous problems with a systematic approach. Very helpful and would highly recommend.
Awesome tutor. Michael took the time to go over topics that were difficult for me and helped break down the lessons that seemed confusing at first. Definitely a big help.
We hired Michael P. to help our son with high school Algebra II and Chemistry. My son says Michael explains this in such a way that he quickly grasps the concepts. He is enthused about the tutoring he is getting.
I used Michael for Chem 1A and Chem 3A tutoring and he was extremely helpful. He went through and carefully answered all of my questions and helped me understand the material that I was struggling with. He really knows his stuff, he's very patient, and will make sure you understand what's going on. I Definitely recommend him!
I once met with Michael after taking allergy medication which made me extremely drowsy. Consequently, he had to go over a physics concept with me at least five times during the session in order for me to begin to grasp it. If he can successfully teach someone in this type of condition, imagine what he can do for you if you're not on allergy medication! True story, but on a more serious note, not only is Michael extremely knowledgeable, flexible and responsive; he also has an uncanny knack for explaining abstract concepts in an easy to understand and practical manner. I owe Michael a great deal for helping me to succeed in my physics class.
He's a great tutor because he's patient and thorough. He listens to every question! He also helps with study strategies. He helped me a lot with chemistry so I definitely recommend him!
Only contacts through e-mail and text, and that is sporadic. Would like to have had a conversation (as in talk to, meet and schedule) with the tutor about working with our high school age son. Doesn't seem interested in an ongoing, paying gig.
He is the best tutor i ever had so far. He care about the student and make all the things clear at once. I am so glad that i met tutor such as him. His major is bio but then he could even teach economics and statistics way better than others who majoring on that. He is genius enough. Thanks Michael. I always appreciate it!
michael is so helpful, hardworking, and accommodating, and definitely cares about his students. i would definitely recommend him to students struggling in chemistry!
Really great at explaining chemistry concepts and ideas in a way that's easier to understand.
He's excellent! Michael has helped my son in Chemistry & precalculus twice a week. He's very knowledgeable and has skills to explain the subject clearly and easily understandable. He's patient & punctual. I would recommend him to anyone.
He was very attentive and helpful! He was always available and able to answer most if not all of my questions. It's nice to be learning from a previous student who has experiences with the class already!
Michael is a caring and very knowledgeable tutor! My son enjoys weekly 2-hour meetings with Michael, and it is really working: he gains confidence in algebra II, chemistry, and SAT preparation. We are very happy with Michael.
I have gotten help from Michael for Physics 8A and 8B and his expertise really made the difference for me! He explains thoroughly and has the rare ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand. He is very patient, encouraging, flexible with scheduling and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking to improve their grades, especially UC Berkeley science majors!
